The super Smart car...

So I'm riding down broad street headed towards the light at the intersection of Alps Rd. and what do I see?? "OMG!!" I said to Justin, "Look at that car!!!!" I was directly behind the tiniest car I had ever seen in my life. And the manufacturer read "Smart." I was so intrigued I had to get a better view. I raced through all of the cars in the other lanes so that I could get a side view and I just so happened to catch it at the light. Now, I had imagined it being tiny, but more like Chevy Aveo tiny... not the Steve-Urkel car tiny!!! It was so small! It looked so adorable "in all the ways socially appropriate to" admire a car (lol).
So I got home, I did some research. The name of the car is called the Smart Pure, one of only two models available in the US. This coupe has a 5 speed transmission and a 3 cylinder 71 HP engine. It is also manufactured from ALL recycled goods. The base price is $11,590 with the potential to be fully loaded at $13,815.
But not all that glitters.... this car is said to get on average in the mid 30s for gas mileage; however, it uses Premium. Oh and did I mention that no crash tests have been conducted yet??? No thanks! Not only that, just like those flying cars I talked about earlier, you'll be waiting for months!

I'll take a bottle of Tylenol, some NyQuil, and a Paternity Test??!?

Yes, now you can go to your local drugstore and pick up a few necessities and a take-home paternity test.. Living in this day and age more and more children are growing up without a father. Well now, with the take-home paternity test, no child shall go fatherless! You can pick up one of these convenient DNA tests for a mere $20. BUT if you read the fine print of the instructions, there is a lab processing fee for $119... BUT if there are more possibilities for a father, then the price may be more.. the results can be discovered on an anonymous and secure website or receive the results via mail. The results will take 3-5 days, and unleash outcomes that may last a lifetime! (lol)

Crank up the tunes.. no, REALLY.

So maybe I am a little behind the times of eco-friendly technology in the music industry, but others aren't. For $200 you can get yourself the Eco EMP-MX71. The MP3 player that comes standard with 2GB with an SD card slot for expansion, a 1.8 inch display, with video and music capabilities. Oh yeah, and not to mention voice recorder, an LED flashlight, a photo viewer, and a text file reader!!!
It comes complete with a hand crank that will give you 40 minutes of playback for every minute of cranking you put into it. The crank can also charge cell phones and it comes with a series of adapters. Never to fear my lazy American friends, for those of you that like to do it the "old-fashioned-way" you can always connect a usb cable and charge it as well!!

Music for the soul... how about for the skin??

The MPION MP3 player not only has the power to play your favorite tunes, but also FIGHT ACNE! It is said that "the 128MB player can improve a girl's complexion by releasing positively and negatively charged ions that neutralize breakouts." All you have to do is hold the MP3 player up to your face, enjoy the music, and it does the rest! By flipping the switch to the negative sign, the pores are opened and moisture to the skin is renewed. By switching to the plus sign, it reduces oil and closes pores back. This should be done for 5-10 minutes per session. So now get clear skin while learning the latest lyrics to all of your favorite songs!!! Flippin sweet!!!!

And the winner is.....

Blu-Ray!!!!! The battle of the formats is over.... Toshiba has officially announced that they will no longer develop, make,OR market HD DVD players... After several ups and downs in the industry, with Warner Brothers contributing so heavily to this outcome, HD DVD stood a solid chance before... Toshiba realized that they "had no chance to win." And gave up in a clean manner, before things got too ugly!
This isn't the first time Sony has been in format battles. Think back to the 80s when VHS first hit the scene, only then, Sony was not so lucky in the outcome. Sony's Betamax did not make the cut. But, now is Sony's time to shine!
So everyone get those tax refund checks ready to go and purchase your new BluRay player.. This one is gonna be here for a while!!!

Oh yea, and PS... Guess who is BestBuy's newest Mac rep!!?!?!?! =)

The Macbook Air... or at least, part of it.

Ok, on Sunday night I had a meeting with the new full-time Mac rep for our store. He came in and spoke a little bit about how macs operate and some selling strategies as well.. Well, in the back of the warehouse, we had a Macbook Air. So he brought it out and passed it around (the most expensive show and tell I've ever had). Well looking at the Air one would ask so there's no CD or DVD rom? And the answer to that question in short is, well, kinda... The way the Air was designed benefits those on the go, and those who have too much with them to be tied down by a bulky computer. So as for the optical drive, there are 2 options: there is a companion Macbook Air superdrive, and its original option, the wireless method. For the wireless method, a CD comes with the Air. When you are nearby computers, whether PC or Mac, just run the install CD and then the computer will wirelessly connect to the Air and any software you want installed to your Air, will be ran on the other PC or Mac, and will wirelessly install on the Air... Is that cool or what??!?!??!

Apple TV

Soooo basically, I have so much to do! I am now working 2 jobs while managing my classes, also I have tests to study for and homework to complete. Busy Busy! Oh, and not only that, I also have to study for work because I am taking online training courses for Mac. So, I decided to talk about Apple TV.

Apple TV is amaaaaaazing! It offers you so much in such a simple fashion! Whether it's streaming your pictures and movies wirelessly to your home television from your computer, ipod, or iPhone, or renting movies on your television and it automatically syncing with all 3 devices! This little device packs a punch! the newest feature, which I just mentioned, is the ability to rent movies through your Apple TV receiver. It allows you to rent them in standard quality and also in HD for a dollar more. Prices start at $3.99 per movie. Also, Apple TV lets you buy episodes of your favorite TV show as early as a day after it first airs on TV! No more waiting for the complete season to come out, you've got it all readily available at your fingertips! And like I mentioned earlier, it automatically syncs with your other Apple devices. Apple TV is a really great product and the graphics are outstanding. I love learning more and more about Apple and their products; they never cease to amaze me.

Up, Up, and Awaaaay!!

This is something that I was reading about a few months ago. In every old-fashioned movie it depicts the year 2000 as having flying cars and robots. Well, robots have been around for a while, and now here come the hover cars. A company named Moller has created the first official "for sale" hover car. With 67 orders for the 500,000-995,000 dollar vehicles the orders expect to be completed and certified by December 31, 2008, right in time for the new year!

The car is called the M400 Skycar. 20,000 feet is considered cruising height for these vehicles, with a top speed of 375mph and cruising speed is about 275mph. They get about 20 MPG on gas (I wonder if that's highway or city...lol) and they can tote a load of up to 750 lbs. Also, they have been deemed safe to fly if one engine fails!

If anyone is interested in ordering one and obtaining a delivery position, with a minimum deposit of $10,000 here is a contact email:

Technology Reflection

So, I'm sitting here, and I just got off of work. I am super tired, but I have a lot to talk about. For starters, I am going for a promotion at my job (Best Buy) to become the Mac Specialist. I have done extensive online training and signed up with Apple to receive some more courses online to help me prepare for the position. I hope I get it. I am super excited! We get Macs in our store on February 28!!! I love the technology and I love learning about them. I love technology in general though.

I was working with a customer today and it dawned on me how much technology we have readily available at our fingertips and how far it has come in just the past few years. Looking back into a Best Buy sales paper from 2003, for $2000, you could get 256MB RAM, with a 40GB hard drive, and a 900mHz processor!! That's crazy!! Nowadays, that much money will buy you one of the most powerful machines money can buy! But then again, who am I to say that 5 years from now, I won't look back into a sales paper from Best Buy and say the same thing. Technology is so amazing and it progresses so rapidly! It seems like as soon a s you buy it, it's outdated... Is it really possible to stay abreast of the times? Is it really possible to have the newest, latest, and most cutting-edge technology?

The customer that I mentioned working with earlier, she was a fairly older lady. She was completely in awe at the technology encompassed by bluetooth. All I did was bluetooth a picture from my phone to print from a printer. She was absolutely amazed! It's so crazy how things that seem so minuscule in technology to our generation seem light years ahead of the times to others... I wonder if there will ever come a time when I'm completely amazed by something that may seem so common to younger generations... OMG!! I don't wanna get old!!!

New Media

New Media is so very interesting! I am taking 2 New Media classes semester and I am so excited. I really look forward to being in this class. I hope to use what I learn to help make an online show. The theme of my show is still to be determined but I have tons of amazing ideas. "RoyaltyTvOnline" will be a series of skits, talk shows, daily activities, and PURE RANDOMNESS! By using YouTube as my platform, I will not only post my videos there but also use the embedding feature to post my videos onto my very own website, which I have spoken with Mr. Aldrige about starting using available server space that he has.  I am certain that both of my New Media classes will teach me more than I could ever have imagined, and my website will be a hit in no time!
